Food cravings

I was in the mood for cheesecake last night, and ended up mixing a little cream cheese, sugar and cinnamon, and dipped animal crackers in it. But it got me thinking about you ladies. What has been your weirdest food craving so far?

Re: Food cravings

  • I haven't craved anything weird just watermelon is my #1 craving, then comes ice cream. There are so many times I crave a soft serve vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles.

  • I haven't had any crazy cravings like what you hear about - pickles and ice cream or whatever.  Yuck.

But I have had cravings for stuff.  Starting in September I couldn't get enough green bean casserole.  I actually ate just that for dinner a couple of times.  I'm still loving it but try to just eat plain green beans most of the time. Since about Christmas time I've been craving sweets - chocolate, cake, cookies, candy, you name it.  I did really badly over Christmas on the cookies front but I've been doing much better this month.  I am pretty much always thinking about cookies or cake at this point but I try to only give in once a week or so.

Also pumpkin stuff. That started back in September too.  I kind of got pumpkined out over the holidays but recently it's kicking back in.  I made 8 loaves of pumpkin bread this week.  I froze 6 of them and we are eating on the second of the two I left out.  To be honest, I'm making so much bread because I bought several cans of pumpkin a few years ago over the holidays.  I wanted some on hand during the year when you can't find it.  Yeah, never used it and it expires in March of this year.  So I'm trying to use it all up before then and I guess it just works out that I'm also craving it.  And I still have enough left to make 5-6 more loaves.  I might just throw away that last can.

  • I have heard that pumpkin ravioli is good, or pumpkin soup. More things to use it on.

  • Weird cravings? Not so much, just the typical switch between chocolate and salty haha. J and I have been working out more, and taking some multi-vitamins, etc. We got a sample of this pill that actually raises energy and reduces cravings (appetite control). After two days, I ate my typical meals, but actually did not have cravings in between meals! Made my stomach realistic haha. Only reason I had cravings yesterday is because the sample ran out haha

  • Anything with sugar.  Stick out tongue

I feel like I am just eating everything in sight.  I keep telling myself that its cause it cold and I have to build up my winter fat.  haha.  Maybe thats true. Wink

  • When I was preggo with my son I always wanted to eat limes. I would take key limes and squeeze the juice add salt and drink it. Well when my son started eating I realized he loves lemons. Kinda weird
